Please work on the following tasks.
(1) What is the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) matrix? Why do we need to use a BCG matrix in strategic development? How we can use BCG matrix for effective strategic formulation?
(2) How do you categorize various Monsanto’s products/services into one of four categories of BCG matrix (Cash Cows, Stars, Question Marks, and Dogs)? Why do you think so? Conduct research, critically analyze the data and provide your own findings and recommendation. Use your own ideas, developing a logical presentation!
(3) Have your SWOT matrix of Monsanto ready (You already developed a SWOT matrix of Monsanto through previous modules, do you remember?). Then, find or develop SO (strengths-opportunities) Strategies, WO (weaknesses-opportunities) Strategies, ST (strengths-threats) Strategies, WT (weaknesses-threats) Strategies of Monsanto. Needless to say, check your Competitive Profile Matrix of Monsanto which you already developed previously AND your own BCG matrix of Monsanto in this journal.
Through your analysis present your own ideas and logic for SWOT based strategic formulation! Use the example matrix formats to conduct your critical analysis and to support your findings and recommendations. The research you conduct provides the data points you use to develop your executive summary (Journal).
