Overview: In Modules Three, Five, Six, and Seven, you will participate in a discussion board that is about a short story that you read in that particular week. The
purpose of the short story discussions is to provide you with the opportunity to investigate selected short stories in depth and to analyze those stories in a forum
with your peers. Short story discussions are similar to regular discussion board prompts in that you will be posting and responding to your peers; however they
differ in that you will be examining effective elements of short stories and engaging with your classmates in a discussion about these particular elements. For
each short story prompt, you will write an initial post (1 to 2 paragraphs) to the short story discussion forum and reply to at least two posts during the week
outside of your initial post thread. This discussion should not be viewed as a short paper. These discussions offer you the opportunity to express your own
thoughts about the short story you have read, ask questions for clarification, and gain insight from your classmates’ responses and instructor’s guidance. A
response needs to be respectful and substantive, indicating a response with depth beyond “I agree” or “I disagree.”
