Overview: Recall the scenario from Milestone One:
Population growth can be modeled simply when we assume a fixed percentage of animals alive at one stage reproduce and add their offspring to the
next stage. A different approach to creating the model assumes there is a maximum population that an area can support; this is known as the carrying
capacity. We then define the current saturation, which will call x, to be the fraction of the carrying capacity that the current population represents. We
assume the population that reproduces at any stage is directly proportional to 1-x.
Thinking back on this scenario, we want to extend the model. In Milestone One, you discussed what factors in the scenario were important in the creation of the
model, so for this milestone, you are going to create the model. Between the model types that have been discussed, which model types are going to be most
appropriate for solving the module? In this milestone, you are going to build a model for the fixed percentage approach.
