Differences in Hindu Temples in Different Countries
My topic for this project is Hindu temples in different countries..What I want to learn and research is what is the historical and cultural significance of different Hindu temples. For these, I will briefly talk about the functions of Hindu temples and give a few examples. Next I will focus on two temples. One is Malibu Hindu Temple, the other one is Kashi Vishwanath Temple. I will talk about both history of them and what its role is. Then I will compare the two temples and talk about their similarities and differences. Research what are the differences and similarities between Hindu temples in the United States and Hindu temples in India.
For the resources, I will go visit the Malibu Hindu Temple and take some pictures for the primary sources, and use a secondary sources Mazumdar, Shampa, and Sanjoy Mazumdar. “Hindu temple building in Southern California: a study of Immigrant religion.” Journal of Ritual Studies (2006): 43-57. I will find some articles about Kashi Vishwanath Temple as my second sources, and then study and learn more about this temple. Such as TIWARI, SHREYA. “TEMPLES IN KASHI.”
