1. Make a list of each main phase of the Moon, describing roughly when the Moon rises and sets for each phase.  
2. During which phase can you see the Moon in the middle of the morning? In the middle of the afternoon?
3. Astronomers prefer to view the stars when the Moon is absent from the night sky. When, and how often, is the moon absent from the night sky? 
You may use the simulator attched to the assignment and also utilize information from page 40 of the free online textbook described at the very end of the class syllabus.
