Research Paper/Project Proposal Guidelines 1) Title of research paper/project 2) Give an overview of the research paper/project with a timeline (the timeline should reflect dates to show your plan for meeting the research paper/project due dates) 3) Specifically, what do you expect to learn from the research paper/project that you don’t know now? What are your learning objectives? 4) What topics will be studied or researched, and/or what activities will be performed? 5) What resources will be used for the research paper/project? (specify, scholarly journal, articles or books) 6) What coursework or professional background have you had to prepare you to do this research paper/project? Proposal and Annotated Bibliography The student will present their idea for their research paper/research project in a proposal. This assignment should include an annotated bibliography with a minimum of five (5) references related to the project. The proposed idea should be directly related to the area of study. The proposal must also include an estimated timeline for completion of the assignment. 1. a research paper (15 to 20 pages) on an approved topic related to your course of study ( you will submit two drafts and the final research paper) Academic Research Paper/Project Requirement The research paper/project should consist of academic research that illustrates the extent to which you can synthesize, analyze, and compile information gleaned from scholarly research in a thoughtful and professional manner. It is not merely a collection of facts it is a thesis-based, argumentative research paper/project. The topic should be consistent with your academic study. Research Paper/Project Guidelines are below: o Paper must be written according to American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines. o Paper must have one inch margins and be double spaced using Times New Roman 12-point font, and be 16-18 pages long, plus a properly formatted reference page. o Use of at least ten peer-reviewed articles published within the last 5 years (no more than two additional sources beyond the ten required from popular journals, books, or websites). o Paper must be written from a neutral perspective, effectively use the research to support the thesis, and in third-person voice, formal style with no grammatical or spelling errors. Rough Draft – Complete one rough draft for submission. It should be a complete paper/project and uploaded. All papers will be checked for plagiarism through Turnitin. 3. Final Draft – Final papers/projects should reflect changes suggested by the instructor, as well as continue to follow the guidelines for the rough draft.
