Jamie, 12 years old, diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (pronouns: they/them). Complex Medical Concern: Jamie also has epilepsy, which requires daily medication and can lead to seizures. Service History: Jamie has received intensive applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to improve communication and social skills over the last year. Unfortunately, despite the team’s efforts, minimal progress has been made. Concerns: Jamie’s lack of progress has left the team perplexed. Their epilepsy and frequent seizures pose significant challenges in delivering consistent interventions. The team is unsure how to effectively modify the plan without exacerbating Jamie’s medical condition.
