1. What are your thoughts about adding new nuclear power plants to the US’s energy future? Are they necessary for our future energy security? Do they pose unacceptable risks? What do you think about the nuclear industry in light of the nuclear reactor accident in Japan?
2. Do you feel that government entities (local, state, federal, schools, etc.) should be mandated to deconstruct their buildings at the end of their life span?
3. Do you have CFLs or LEDs in your home? If so, I’d like to know why you chose to purchase something that is way more expensive than incandescent bulbs. If not, why not? What would encourage you to buy such a light bulb?
4. My community (Duluth, MN) built a LEED certified airport. Though I am proud that my community built a LEED certified building, when I think about this in terms of Peak Oil, it makes no sense to spend millions of dollars on rebuilding an airport when oil will get more expensive subsequently making air travel more costly and less available for many people. What evidence do you see in your community (newspapers, TV news) of leaders preparing for life with less oil (any energy efficiency initiatives being promoted or renewable energy project development)? What are your thoughts pro or con?
