Movement Concepts and Fundamental Motor Skill Demonstration Create a 5 – 10 minute video of you physically demonstrating the four movement concepts and themes from chapter 15 and the two types of fundamental motor skills from chapter 16. In your video, first briefly introduce yourself and explain what movement concepts are and the purpose of movement concepts and themes. Introduce each of the four concepts and then physically demonstrate an example of this concept using at least 2 examples from chapter 15. Four Movement Concepts: Body Awareness, Space Awareness, Qualities of Movement, Relationship Next, explain the two types of fundamental motor skills and the importance of teaching fundamental motor skills in the elementary physical education curriculum. Use the “instructional cues” in chapter 16 to physically teach how to do 3 locomotor skills and 3 nonlocomotor skills. You must teach and physically demonstrate the skills. You can include walking or running but they will not be counted toward your 3 examples. Make sure you practice the skills before you record. You will be graded on correctly teaching the skills (cognitive learning domain) and correctly physically demonstrating the motor skills (psychomotor learning domain). This video does not require anyone other than you in the video. If you would like to include others such as children in the video that is optional (and wonderful) however you need to still demonstrate the activities. Have fun! (but demonstrate correctly).
