Read one of the four essays scanned (pdf) by Rachel Carson, KC Cole, Roxane Gay, and Binyavanga Wainaina, jotting down notes structured as bullet points in spontaneity drawn from active reading and reacting to your chosen piece. What comes to mind in the reading of the title? What associations do the words of the sentences trigger in your mind? How do descriptions and imagery aid you in visualizing the experiences described? Write down the words as thoughts come to mind. Then, chase those thoughts down to their possible origin in your own experience, in relatable ideas that the essays generate. You may handwrite the reactive notes on paper, and upload an image, thumb-type on your phone’s Notes, or type text into this interface’s box, whatever you’d prefer. I encourage you to write your reactions fresh as you read, recording the instant of your reading experience. Observe how your body reacts to the reading, your breathing patterns, and the stimuli of your senses… https://inst-fs-iad-prod.inscloudgate.net/files/382fe1c9-5673-4284-a98b-0ec31484dc64/What%2 0We%20Hunger%20For%20-%20The%20Rumpus.net.pdf?download=1
