Medical Office Network

    August 4, 2024

Scenario:
You have been asked to configure a medical office network to comply with the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH). The medical office has 50 employees; doctors, medical assistants, administrative assistants, and secretaries. The network requirements are as follows:
20 stations are needed around the two-story office, sharing 5 printers and 10 high-definition displays for x-rays and other studies reading and analysis.
Laptops with docking stations are needed for each of the 10 doctors.
An electronic health record (EHR) system is required by law. An EHR system is a digital version of a patient’s paper chart that contains patient medical and treatment histories (HealthIT.gov).
One server is needed to assign dynamic IP’s to all stations and serve as a domain name server. A second server is needed to host the EHR application and Oracle database management system.
Data storage is needed for medical records, X-rays, and lab reports.
