Quality and Safety in Healthcare Informatics
Purpose
The purpose of this discussion is to explore the importance of quality and safety in healthcare informatics.
Course Outcomes
This discussion enables the student to meet the following course outcomes:
CO 4: Describe evidence-based safety, quality, and decision-making support tools embedded in information and communication technologies. (POs 4, 8)

Graded discussions in Weeks 1-7 are due Sunday at 11:59 pm MT. For courses with Week 8 graded discussions, the discussion will close on Saturday at 11:59 p.m. MT. All Week 8 discussion requirements must be met by this deadline.

Step 2: Answer the discussion prompts below with explanation and detail.
Paragraph one: Discuss one quality and safety issue you observed while watching the video and explain the impact of this issue.
Paragraph two: Discuss how the role of technology helped or hindered the quality and safety issue you identified.
Paragraph three: Discuss one information and communication technology policy that should be enacted to prevent the selected quality and safety issue.
References: Provide complete references for all citations.
Posts should meet the following criteria:
Integrate Evidence: Cite at least two sources of evidence in weekly posts.
