A 53-year-old man has been treated with clindamycin (Cleocin) for lower extremity cellulitis l. He presents to the clini today with xomplaints of eight episodes of diarrhea in the past 24 hours. The NP suspects Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI). The patients cellulitis is imptoved, but not resolved. The best course of action for this patient is to: order oral vancomycin for cdi and switch clindamycin to doxycycline, order metronidazole to cover both cdi and cellulitis, administer rocephin IM x3 days and order oral vancomycin for cdi, continue clindamycin and order a PPI and oral vancomycina 60 year old woman presents with an acute flareup of diverticulitis.
