Intro to Semester Project Use this document to gather any information/ resources and begin planning your semester project. For this project you have the choice of the following options: Option 1: 3-page analysis of a chosen artwork. Must include historical/ cultural background of the artist/artwork, description of artwork’s appearance (visual elements and principles of the artwork) and the meaning of the artwork based on your research. Think of this option as a longer version of the 1-page artwork analysis assignments we have been working on throughout the semester so far. Or Option 2: Create an artwork in response to another artist’s work including a 2-page summary of the ideas behind your artwork and how it relates to the artwork that initially inspired you. Note: If you choose option 2 you are responsible for buying your own art supplies. SECTION 1: Choosing the artwork Questions to consider when looking for artwork, what style of art appeals to you? What topics/ themes are you interested in and would be interested in researching in relation to the artwork? Use the links and resources below to help you find artwork that you would be interested in researching thoroughly or that would inspire your own art (if you choose option 2). Disclaimer: Make sure when you are finding your artwork there are at least 3 articles about the artist and their work that you can use as references.
