Final Project Civic Action Scorecard (Alternative Service-Learning Assignment)
Description: Challenge MDC students to increase and vary the ways they are civically engaged. Tool used to guide students, professors, and the Miami community through diverse action items to grow and strengthen their vital participation in the civic life of our community. Bring awareness to students by identifying elected officials, reducing carbon footprint, attending local government meetings, donating blood, and visiting a local site of cultural significance.

Directions:
To complete the Civic Action Scorecard, you must do the following:
- Read and review the list of 50+ actions that are civically engaging.
- Read and review the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development goalsLinks to an external site..
- Create a plan for action to earn a minimum of 15 points on the Civic Action Scorecard.
- Print and use the “Civic Action Award Tracking Sheet” (see Appendix A) to log all your actions/points that relate to children, schools, or individuals with disabilities.
- Create a 3-5 minute video on how you will document EACH action for your Civic Action Scorecard Portfolio. Powerpoints with or without voiceover, Word Documents, and PDFs will NOT be accepted. You can use a Powerpoint in your video, but it MUST be a video. I should be able to press play to watch your video.
- Submit your Video AND Your Civic Action Scorecard Tracking Sheet.
