Assignment. The history of research with human subjects is replete with ethical dilemmas and
controversies. To develop a deeper knowledge about some of these ethical concerns, particularlywhen vulnerable people are involved, we will be reading and discussing The Immortal Life ofHenrietta Lacks and your assignment is to write a book review that outlines and criticallyanalyzes the ethical issues raised by the book, including a discussion/application of two ofthe classical ethical theories discussed in class (e.g., Utilitarianism, Deontology, VirtueEthics, Ethics of Care/Feminist Ethics, Casuistry). The book review must be 500-800 words,typewritten, double-spaced, and focus on the book. If you choose to use external sources in yourbook review (remember you have a limited amount of space), please cite such sources usingeither APA format (preferred) or MLA format. The reference page for your sources cited willnot count toward your word limit, however.
