2. Describe the Progressive era. What conditions motivated progressives to seek reform?  Who were some of the prominent progressive leaders?  What is the lasting legacy of the Progressive era on America?  Were the reformers truly progressive?
3. What were the main factors leading to U.S. involvement in World War I? How did U.S. involvement influence the outcome of the war?  How did life at home change during the conflict?  What was President Wilson’s plan for the postwar world and why did the American government not adopt Wilson’s plan? 
4. Describe the effects of the Great Depression on U.S. society.  What were some of the economic reasons behind the Depression? Describe life in the U.S. during the Depression. What were some of the ways average Americans dealt with the Depression?  How did the government respond to the economic crisis and were the measures effective?
