Choose to communicate with (1) one individual athlete; or (2) with an entire team. Also choose the context and time frame in which you will be meeting with them (ie…pre-season, beginning of season, during season, in playoffs/championship). The scenario can utilize your own experiences or can be made up.
 
Apply the concepts discussed in the five ways to improve communication between a coach and an athlete to your scenario. Explain how you would go about:
 
Assessing the Situation
What elements of effective communication would you want to communicate.
How can you be positive; What message would you like your athletes to hear and think about?
How can you improve your communication skills? Be specific.
Papers should be 2-3 pages in length, be in APA Format, typed, double-spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins. Do not use bullet points. This should be written in an Essay format.
