Note: a paragraph is a writing structure that requires a minimum of five complete sentences. 4. These five or more sentences should represent a valid knowledge of the topic. 5. The Discussion also requires a Comment or Reply to a classmate’s Discussion. 6. This Comment or Reply requires a minimum of three complete sentences. 7. It is not only about the number of sentences, but the valid knowledge of the topic represented through out the paragraph (Discussion) and/or the three sentences (Comment or Reply). And we are talking about “university student’s sentences” not “Mary is a girl or Tom is a boy” kind of sentences… 8. These three sentences should represent a valid knowledge of the other student’s Discussion. 9. Note: Sentences just expressing your opinion and/or perception of your classmate’s Discussion, and/or complimenting your classmate do not count for points, i.e., “I love what you wrote about…”; “You did a great job…”; “I agree with you”… 10. Replies Ginnette There are several methods people can use to successfully solve problems. Four of them are: algorithms, understanding, heuristics, and insight. Algorithms are step-by-step procedures designed to solve specific problems and perform tasks efficiently in the realm of computer science and mathematics. It’s been the big talk about TikTok and how the government believes our youth is being influenced. Understanding In psychology, is being able to state the causes of a behavior. Having deeper comprehension to assist with how to proper assess the situation. Heuristic is providing a solution by trial and error or by rules that are only based on a loosely defined concept. Every day we learn by trial and error. Some of us get it at the first trial and some of us experience more errors than others. Insight is having a sudden mental reorganization of a problem that makes the solution obvious. Having insight in situation can also be helpful in being able to strategically provide a solution. Being able to combine these methods of problem solving can be most effective in your everyday life. We can continue to grow and learn. Dianne After doing a brief summary of the solving problem’s methods mentioned in Chapter 8, which are algorithmic solutions, use of rule-based strategies, understanding, finding the reasons behind a behavior, heuristics, solving problems quickly, and insight, usually based on reorganizing a problem, I found the understanding method more efficient for me. By applying this solution, we could avoid so many problems in our lives, such as with family, friends, and even at work. The reasoning that involves this method can help us to answer in an effective way or make a good decision. Solving issues is an ability, and like a skill, it improves with more practice. In conclusion, creating ideas for solutions and choosing the best method of action are the steps in the problem-solving process.
