You cannot summarize the article. Instead, you must critically evaluate it and write your critical analysis (critique) essay on the article. The essay must have five (5) paragraphs and no fewer than 500 words. Format: APA.
The Thesis Statement must be clear, at the end of the introductory paragraph, and contain the three (3) points that will be developed in body paragraphs 2, 3, and 4.E.g. High levels of alcohol consumption have detrimental effects on your personal health, such as weight gain, heart disease, and liver complications. (point 1) (point 2) (point 3)
Documentation: You must use at least three (3) sources from reliable databases to document your analysis. There must be at least one in-text citation in each of the body paragraphs (2, 3, and 4).Â
Do NOT use Wikipedia, Infoplease, Answers.com, WebMd, Psychology Today as a source.
You must use the APA format exactly as it is.
Do NOT include tables, lists, bullet points, and graphs in your paper. Avoid including details that do not serve to advance or complete your essay. I expect your essay to contain a strong introduction that includes your essay’s thesis, a coherent and focused body that effectively transitions from paragraph to paragraph, and a rich conclusion that provides closure for your essay.Â
Start with an Outline What does the outline of an essay consist of? It basically implies jotting down single or several sentences for each of the topics you’ll use in your essay. Schematically, the outline looks like this: In paragraph 1, write one sentence outlining your topic, and one sentence describing your thesis statement. In paragraph 2, give several sentences to describe the first point and prove it with facts (you must use in-text citation here). In paragraph 3, describe the second point and provide short evidence (you must use in-text citation here). In paragraph 4, describe the third point and provide short evidence (you must use in-text citation here). In paragraph 5, state your thesis statement again and sum up your essay by providing the included analysis. Also, express your final argument and prove the main point of your essay. Once you have the outline, then you proceed to develop each paragraph with more sentences and details and using transitions from sentence to sentence and from paragraph to paragraph.
