Evaluation Essay
Objective: To practice the Evaluation mode of writing
Additional focuses: Setting criteria, elimination of 2nd person, providing a specific thesis sentence that demonstrates an understanding of evaluation, and using specific examples to support topic sentences
Directions:
For this essay, you will choose one of the following and evaluate it. 

A useful website
A useful app or product
A Popular TV Show
A Musician, Band, or Musical Performer
A Music Video or Song
A Popular Trend
A Social Media Site (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.)

In the essay, you will EVALUATE what you chose in a 700 – 900 words.
When evaluating one of the above, you must:

Identify, describe, and explain what you have decided      to evaluate (Introduction)
Make a specific claim (your opinion) about what you are      evaluating (the thesis)
Use objective, clear criteria that you used to support      your claim or judgment
Provide evidence/examples directly from what is being      evaluated
