Review the Learning Resources on evaluation and outcomes assessment, including the Evidence-Based Assessment Tools document, to refamiliarize yourself with measurement in the context of social work.
Explore the therapy services offered by People First San Diego. Consider the intended outcomes of these services and how you might measure the extent to which those outcomes are being met.
Explore the Walden Library website in the Learning Resources to find validated, evidence-based instruments (or tools) you can use to measure the outcomes. You may also use Google by searching “[topic name (e.g., depression]” “scale.”
Consider how the results of an evaluation may affect you and your actions as a leader.
You must post your initial Day 3 response before you are able to see any posts by your colleagues.
BY DAY 3
Identify two intended outcomes of the therapy services offered at the People First organization. Then, describe an evidence-based instrument you could use to measure these outcomes. How would you use the tool to determine the extent to which the services are effective? What would you do if you learned the services were not as effective as hoped? How would the results influence your work as a leader in the organization?
