Gary Sanders, a 78-year-old male, comes in today with the complaint that the mole on his right ankle has begun to rapidly change in shape and color. Dr. Jones completes an examination noting ABCD – asymmetry, elevation above skin surface with an irregular border, blue-grey in color, firm to the touch, and a diameter of 8 mm and thickness of 1.63 mm. Gary is admitted to Weston Hospital. Skin and lymph node biopsies were ordered as well as imaging studies and blood tests.
