Along with great technological advances, there is also a very dark and violent side of American history. The desire for slave labor from the beginnings of the early colonies to the invention of the cotton gin, brought exploitation, torture, and hell on earth for slaves, who literally carried the US economy on their back. The Discussion for this week is a video sharing a conversation with Nikole Hannah-Jones.
After answering the questions below, the question to discuss amongst each other is, how can the US truly reconcile itself with the past and it’s history even with all the racial tension that still endures? What can be done?
