Identify and critically review a peer-reviewed (refereed) journal article on an immigration policy issue. The review should be three (3) pages typed, double-spaced (about 750 words).
Peer-reviewed journal articles may be researched and found in the National University Library. If you need assistance on How To Recognize Peer-Reviewed (Refereed) Journal Articles, there are some guidelines and examples provide in the STUDENT RESOURCES section of this course’s website.
Instructions
Clearly introduce the article’s title, author, and source information (i.e., journal name, publication date, volume, pages, URL).
Introduce and discuss the article’s topic.
Summarize and discuss the major theory or theme(s) of the article as it relates to immigration policy.
Did the author conduct research? If so, what was the research question and methodology?
Discuss the author’s arguments/points of view.
What were the author’s Findings/conclusions/major issues?
What is the article’s implications for immigration policy?
Discuss what you learned from the article.
Critique the value of the information in the article in terms of how it can (or cannot) be applied to the field.
Please do not quote extensively from the article. Your summary/critique should be an in-depth ‘review’, not a regurgitation of quotes. This is not a mini-research paper, but rather a review of an article and how it relates to immigration policy.
Please include a “Reference” page with this assignment that includes the APA-Style reference of the article being reviewed. Additional peer-reviewed references are not required for this assignment.
