Jonathan had been an FNP for 10 years and now that Full Practice Authority is available to FNPs in the state of Illinois, he plans to apply for Full Practice Authority. According to the current Illinois State Nurse Practice Act, in order to apply for Full Practice Authority (FPA) in the State of Illinois, Jonathan must meet all of the following requirements except: at least 250 hours of continuing education in their area of national certification at least 4,000 hours of clinical experience after first attaining national certification in their area of national certification in collaboration with a physician an attestation by the collaborating physician(s) with whom the NP completed their clinical experience(s) prior to applying for Full Practice Authority a written collaborative agreement
