What do you have to add to the conversation?  In a short essay (or video) in the style of an op-ed piece from a newspaper, please share your thoughts and opinions on one of the topics that we have been discussing in class, as well as your ideas as to what can and should be done about it.  I want you to write about something that you feel passionate about, so I will be flexible about how closely the topic should relate to the specific issues we have covered.  However, be sure to connect it in some way to these issues.  Please use at least three (3) references to our class readings, PowerPoints, videos, and/or activities in your response.  You have two options on how to format your response:
You will be graded on the following criteria, each having equal weight:
1- Have a strong and clearly defined position on the issue you are informing us on or advocating for

2- Use at least 3 sources from our class (readings, videos, PowerPoints, class discussion, etc.) Please be sure to state the name and author of each source (if you know them)

3- Explain why this is an important issue that you are passionate about- speak from your lived experience if possible
4- Create a clear, compelling, creative, and well-organized essay/video
Your response will be graded based on how well you answer all parts of the prompt.  This assignment is due on Friday, March 22nd by 11:59pm.
