Mr. Craig is a 61 year-old male with a history of hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, and tobacco use. He began smoking at age 15 and averages approximately 1-2 packs of cigarettes per day. He has a family history of diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Mr. Craig’s father had a quadruple CABG at the age of 36 and died from congestive heart failure at the age of 47. His sister died of a myocardial infarction at the age of 54. Mr. Craig underwent his first PTCA with stenting 3 years ago but has not changed his health or lifestyle behaviors since then. Within the past few months, he has noticed shortness of breath on exertion and occasionally at rest. He does not report any symptoms suggestive of myocardial ischemia.
