People can influence and inspire others to have intrinsic motivation by changing their perspective on a task, but this can be a skill that people have to learn. It is not only about the number of sentences, but the valid knowledge of the topic represented through out the paragraph (Discussion) and/or the three sentences (Comment or Reply). And we are talking about “university student’s sentences” not “Mary is a girl or Tom is a boy” kind of sentences… 8. On the other hand, extrinsic motivation involves engaging in activities or tasks for external rewards or outcomes, such as money, praise, or recognition. Two examples of extrinsic motivation include working overtime to earn a bonus and studying hard to receive good grades and praise from parents or teachers. Personally, I find intrinsic motivation more compelling and fulfilling. When I engage in activities driven by intrinsic motivation, I feel a deeper sense of satisfaction and fulfillment because I am pursuing goals or tasks that align with my personal interests, values, and passions. While external rewards can provide temporary satisfaction or motivation, they often lack the enduring fulfillment that comes from pursuing activities for their own sake. Therefore, I am more inclined to cultivate and prioritize intrinsic motivation in my endeavors, as it allows me to derive genuine joy and satisfaction from my pursuits. 2. These external incentives can include tangible rewards such as money, grades, or praise, as well as threats of punishment or criticism. For example, someone might work overtime to earn a bonus, or they might study diligently to achieve high grades in school. While extrinsic motivation can be effective in prompting certain behaviors, it often lacks the depth of personal fulfillment and satisfaction associated with intrinsic motivation. Additionally, reliance solely on extrinsic rewards may lead to a decrease in intrinsic motivation over time, as individuals may come to view the activity as merely a means to an end rather than an enjoyable pursuit in itself. Personally, I am more inclined to embrace intrinsic motivation. The idea of finding joy and fulfillment in the activities I engage in resonates deeply with me. Pursuing interests and passions for their own sake not only brings a sense of satisfaction but also fosters personal growth and development. While extrinsic motivation certainly has its place in certain contexts, such as achieving specific goals or meeting external expectations, I believe that cultivating intrinsic motivation can lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life overall.
