Playwright in History Assignment/ intro Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to get you to take a look at one specific playwright and prepare a slide presentation you would use to teach others about him/her/they. Student Objective: demonstrate an understanding of the basic aspects of your author, addressing those things mentioned in the prompt and expanding on them based on your interest – as well as displaying a fundamental understanding of what makes a good presentation (google that if you’ve never done this type of presentation before). Grading: You will be graded on promptness, effort, substance, and your ability to present your thoughts in a clear manner with visual images and captions that high lite your points. For full points a student should be sure to include their own personal opinions on what they learn about the author — why do you think you would like their work, or not? etc. PROMPT: Select an author from the list provided below – picking one you are interested in. Conduct research on your author using the internet. Prepare a PowerPoint presentation (complete with images) that in no way resembles the author’s web page (or any other website) and SAVE IT AS A PDF PRIOR TO SUBMITTING. Your power point should include a brief bio of the author, what works they are known for, any special topics or themes they may be known for, and their success.
