Psychoeducational Group Activity
Instructions
During your practicum rotation you will co-lead a 30 to 45-minute Psychoeducational Group Activity.
The following are suggestions of group topics you might choose. You may also choose another group topic you find in the literature.
Social Skills Group
Medication Teaching Group
Support Group
Relaxation Group
Motivational Group
Assertiveness Group
Self-Esteem Group
Problem-Solving Group
Stress Management Group
Health Promotion Group
Life Skills Group
As a group, students will need to do a review of literature to learn about the group topic you have selected. Each group participant is required to upload Part I of the provided template, outline for group project with your group presentation topic including a reference list to go over with your practicum instructor one week prior to leading the group activity.
Part I: Outline for group project:
I. Type of group – Psychoeducational Group on (Insert your topic here.)
II. Objectives for group session
III. Outline of group session – include introduction, activities/discussion questions,
and closing. Also indicate any AV’s you will use such as a poster, music, handout, etc.
IV. References from peer-reviewed, professional journals (at least 1) written within the last 5 years.
V. Upload the Psychoeducational Group outline.
