This week includes a review of the standard procedures most agencies, including public health departments, must follow before promulgating new rules. At the state level, these procedures are modeled after the landmark federal legislation known as the Administrative Procedure Act (1946).
A standard requirement set forth by a typical administrative procedures statute is public notice in advance of the final rule. Usually 30 days or thereabouts (hence the title of this activity.
For example, the Alabama Department of Health, in accordance with the Alabama Administrative Procedure Act, posts its proposed rules here.
Once again, your instructor has dragooned you into serving as unpaid research assistant to help him locate other websites that have a posted notice of proposed rule.
I expect that most of you will choose a public health agency, but it can be any state or federal agency that interests you. Want to know more about proposed regulations for nuclear energy? Go for it.

2. I want maximum variation so you need to identify a proposed regulation that hasn’t already been posted.
