Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring discussed how nurses combine scientific nursing practice with empathetic and compassionate delivery of care to facilitate healing (Smith, 2020). Watson has a holistic approach to nursing, recognizing  medicine and technology as potential cure to ailments and diseases, but true healing comes from interactions between the nurse and patient (Smith, 2020). Watson’s Theory of Human Caring can be defined using the four metaparadigm concepts of nursing including person, health, environment, and nursing. 
The 10 Caritas were defined by Watson as 10 carative factors of the nursing profession that facilitate the formation of a relationship that aid in the healing process.
