Signature Assessment on COPD
The presentation should be a mock simulation of what you would present to your unit staff in an effort to gain buy-in as you initiate the practice change for your area of practice.
• create a PPT with a title slide, objective slide, content slides, reference slide. reflects upon the clinical problem that you have identified in your area of nursing practice (as identified in Module 1) which is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
• FIRST critically appraise research and summarize the knowledge available on the clinical problem (COPD). This is part of gaining buy in on your unit. (minimum requirement of 6 scholarly journal articles reviewed and appraised in the PowerPoint presentation for application to practice problem – you can reuse research articles from past assignments for example, module 1 and other modules too). Be sure to cite each source in the presentation. For example, state “According to such and such (2018), ……………”.
o Then – Outline a strategic plan for the implementation of a practice change in your clinical practice environment based on your findings from research. Strategic Plan should include:
 Describe how you intend to operationalize (enact) the practice change in your practice environment
 What theoretical model will you use?
 How will you overcome barriers to implementation?
 What sources of internal evidence will you use in providing data to demonstrate improvement in outcomes?
 Describe evaluation methods of implementation clearly
 Are there any ethical considerations? (If no, explain why)
