The patient is a 47-year-old female who is at the clinic today. The patient reports only having 3 days left on all her medications. She states that she has no trouble giving herself injections, but she dislikes having to take so many pills. She would like to know if it would be possible to change her “other insulin” to a pen, because it is so much more convenient for her to use. She states she checks her home blood glucose before breakfast (7 am) and at bedtime (8 pm). Her morning BG ranges from 115-180 and her bedtime BG ranges from 190-260. She denies signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia.
