You are the police chief and you need to explain what your department is doing to address the incident (see video) in a 3-5 minute speech for the local TV network and social media. This should be in a video-recorded Press Conference format. You may use your phones, your computer, or cameras; but your attention to a professional presentation is expected. This means, location setting, clothing, distractions, and delivery. You know what you want to say because you will have made notes on it, so just relax and convey the information remembering to integrate what you learned about de-escalation.
Use the rubric (last few pages of your syllabus) as an additional guide to ensure you meet each criterion along with reviewing the instructions of the assignment’s minimum time requirement for the press briefing.
